Little Dragons

Little Dragons is a fun, high energy introduction to martial arts and allows all members of the family to train at The Edge. It introduces children as young as 4 to skills they will need to graduate to junior Tang Soo Do classes.

It will also build your child’s focus and concentration, helping them to prepare for school and the challenges they face ahead. At the same time they will learn fitness habits that they can keep for life.

Skills Taught Include:

Listening and following directions.

Appropriate self control.

Memory and focus.

Social skills and teamwork.

Balance and motor skills.

Basic kicks, blocks, and punches.

Junior Tang Soo Do

Junior students ages 6 and up will learn martial arts in a supportive environment with their peers, developing the three “S’s” – self-confidence, self-discipline, and self-defense. Juniors are introduced to the same elements and curriculum of American Tang Soo Do as adults – including forms, kicking, grappling, striking, and sparring – but in an age appropriate setting.

Skill Taught Include:

Self-confidence and self-discipline.

Balance, power, and athleticism.

Practical self-defense in a controlled learning environment.

Grit and tenacity via challenging situations.

Respect for peers and adults.

Mastery of a martial art with a rich tradition and lineage.

Fitness and flexibility.

Junior Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Junior students ages 8 and up will learn BJJ in a supportive environment with their peers, developing the three “S’s” – self-confidence, self-discipline, and self-defense. Juniors are introduced to the same elements and curriculum of BJJ for adults.

Skill Taught Include:

Confidence in technique and self motivation.

Principles of forming strong base and posture.

Effective self-defense in real world scenarios.

Decision making in stressful situations.

Respect for peers and adults.

Mastery of a grappling martial art.
